Play On Players, Gainesville Georgia
Educational and Performance Company
Play On Players is a children’s theatre company founded by Carly Berg and Haden Rider, who are graduates of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance artist-training program, a collaboration of the University of North Georgia and Brenau University, in Gainesville, Georgia.
The Play On Players mission is to provide outstanding productions by young artists who POP on stage. We strive to provide an engaging, safe, and creative environment for children by offering exciting experiences in musical theatre productions. Our goal is to inspire and strengthen self-confidence, individual expression, and theatre performance skills, while also developing life-long values, teamwork, and the love of performing live theatre for the community.
Talented groups of individuals ranging from ages 7 to 18 are assembled to perform and then compete in an international theatre convention known as the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA. The Junior Theater Festival is a festival produced by iTheatrics for children ages 8-18 held every year in Atlanta, GA at the Cobb Galleria Convention Center. It is designed for serious minded “triple threat” performers who are committed to working hard and delivering an amazing performance. Organizations from all over the world attend each year and present a 15 minute condensed version of a Broadway Jr. show under the license of Music Theatre International or Disney Musicals. The weekend festival includes the show presentation, workshops, guest speakers, awards, a dance party, and a ticket to a broadway-style performance.
In addition to the JTF competitions, P.O.P. performs full-length productions throughout the year.
