Atlanta Academy of Vocal Arts, Peachtree Corners Georgia
Atlanta Academy of Vocal Arts, founded by professional soloist and voice instructor mezzo-soprano Maria McDaniel Willathgamuwa, is a highly accomplished private voice studio serving the North Metro Atlanta area. She enjoys an active career with numerous opera, concert, recital credits and vocal competition awards, including regular appearances as a soloist with The Atlanta Opera.
AAVA gives singers tools to build their vocal skills through private instruction, master classes, workshops and local performances. Ms. Maria’s encouraging approach combines the integration of classical vocal technique (bel canto) with the best of modern voice science knowledge and performance psychology. Students develop audition & performance confidence, sound technique, musicianship and a variety of repertoire from classical and sacred music to musical theater and pop. AAVA singers and alumni are actively engaged in their distinct crafts ranging from sacred music, music education, community choruses to professionals on Broadway and opera stages. Most recently, student Angelica Hale was runner-up on the 2017 Season of America’s Got Talent. AAVA students who study regularly with Ms. Maria have a 100% college scholarship placement record at music programs throughout the country.
